From MBA to PhD to Senior Lecturer
Meet our Alumni, Dr Wan Muhammad Noor Sarbani Mat Daud!
"Since completing my MBA in 2015, I transitioned from the manufacturing industry to academia, beginning a PhD journey in 2017 and graduating in 2022. Over this period, I contributed 12 SCOPUS-indexed articles with an H-index of 4, presented 9 papers in international conferences, and supervised the Best Final Year Project in 2018.
I also led a community grant worth RM15k for an activated carbon manufacturing project, served as faculty webmaster and e-learning coordinator, and became an HRDF Certified Trainer in 2023, actively teaching in the National Training Week 2024 and 2025.
In January 2025, I secured a permanent position as Senior Lecturer at UMPSA. My research and innovation in EV charging technology resulted in a pending patent for a Lamp Post EV Charger, leading a RM15k consultation project, and winning multiple awards including Gold Medals at CITREX 2024 and 2025, ITEX 2025, a Special Award from the University of Jeddah, and the Best Pitching Award in Innovation Pitching and Business Management 2025, while also advancing to the second round of the Swiss Innovation Challenge and third round in Innovathon 2025."

Meet Ts. Dr. Norhana Mohd Aripin
Meet our dynamic alumnus, Ts. Dr Norhana Mohd Aripin – a results-oriented professional with over 12 years’ experience across academia and the automotive manufacturing industry, namely Isuzu Hicom Sdn Bhd and Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
With a Ph.D. focusing on Lean Management, she now serves as a Senior Lecturer and Head of Program in Industrial Technology Management at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah.
Recognised for leading lean manufacturing projects, mentoring future talents in Lean Six Sigma, Dr Norhana truly bridges the gap between theory and practice. We’re proud to celebrate her inspiring journey from classroom to industry leadership and back to academia!

From hospital halls to academic leadership
Before 2016, I was building my career at KPJ Pahang Specialist Hospital. But pursuing my MBA became the true turning point — sharpening my skills in management, leadership, and business strategy.
That MBA opened the door to academia, where I now serve as Deputy Head for the DBA Unit at DRB - HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia
Along the way, I also earned my PhD from the Faculty of Industrial Management, UMPSA Malaysia, under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr Lee Khai Loon, a milestone that strengthened my research, analytical, and leadership abilities.
The journey proves one thing: with the right foundation, you can transform your career and create impact beyond boundaries.
